Get Involved With English Sporting Clay Shooting

If you have never tried clay pigeon shooting before, then English Sporting is a great discipline to start with. Set in beautiful natural surroundings, the clays in English Sporting are designed to copy the behaviour of their real life counterparts. For instance, the rabbit will sprint across the field close to the ground whereas the springing teal is unpredictable and can fly across from a huge variety of angles. Each one is challenging but it doesn’t take long to get into the swing of things and you’ll be smashing targets in no time.

Try Clay Pigeon Shooting in a Natural Environment

Here at Doveridge, we have two fantastic locations for English Sporting. The first is The Valley, set deep in the rolling acres of the Weaver Hills. Featuring 14 competition stands, this course has played host to a number of major tournaments in the past thanks to the challenging nature and unpredictability of the targets. We regularly change the settings of the clays too to keep regular visitors on their toes.

As well as The Valley, we are one of the only clubs to have another course dedicated to novices. Known as The Garden, this offers a more relaxed challenge and is a great place to learn the sport. The Garden can also be booked out by stag or hen parties as well as corporate groups and is a great place to end your day. We also have flush mode which is fantastic fun for larger groups and tests everyone’s skill.
